With the Holiday Season underway, we look back and look ahead in appreciation. We also give back to our communities, ‘Tis the Season to be Giving!

This November, At Home Apartments is participating in the Harvest Food Donation. Thanksgiving is a great time to reflect on everything we have to be thankful for. In our community, many people need assistance for items we may take for granted like a warm meal.

A list of acceptable items include;

Nonperishable Food Household
• Canned vegetables
• Canned fruit
• Boxed meals (Hamburger Helper, Pasta Roni, Mac & Cheese)
• Canned meat/tuna
• Peanut butter and jelly
• Canned soup
• Cereal – hot and cold
Personal Care Products
• Soap
• Deodorant
• Shampoo
• Toilet Paper

**Please refrain from donating perishable foods, glass containers or homemade or home-canned items.**

At Home Apartments will be accepting these items between November 1st and November 24th and will take donations to Harvesters in time for the holidays!  Please bring any items mentioned above to our Leasing Office at 5954 Woodson Rd., Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm.

At Home Apartments is also participating in Kansas City’s own Operation Breakthrough toy drive. Operation Breakthrough reaches out to children in our Kansas City area all year long. Operation Breakthrough provides care for over 500 children daily; 98 percent of the children attending come from families living below the poverty level. We partner with them during the holidays to stock their “toy store”. Parents who are raising children on a very low income can register and shop for their kids. A free store! Parents pick 4 gifts per child and brighten their smiles through the Holidays. These toys are also used throughout the year for birthdays.

Help a low income family bring holiday cheer to their children by donating toys and gifts. Donations must be new merchandise in unopened packaging. All toys should be unwrapped. Toys for children of all ages are needed. Many donors also want to give the parent a gift. We suggest a gift card to Target, so the parent can get something the family needs.

Our Toy Drop box will be located in the Leasing Office at 5954 Woodson Rd, Mission, KS 66202. You may donate between November 10th and December 10th.
